Edmund Elisha Case (1844–1919) was an American painter known for his landscapes and still‑life works created primarily around Springfield, Massachusetts. Born in Suffield, Connecticut, he studied at the National Academy of Design and traveled to Europe for additional training, where he absorbed influences from the Dutch and French artistic traditions before returning to the U.S. to paint scenes of local landscapes and everyday subjects with a refined realism. Case’s work was exhibited during his lifetime and continues to appear in art auctions today, appreciated for its thoughtful composition and atmospheric quality.
