​Edgar Jácome, born in Imbabura, Ecuador, on April 5, 1964, is a contemporary artist renowned for his vivid depictions of Galápagos wildlife. After completing his high school education, he moved to the Galápagos Islands, where the unique biodiversity profoundly influenced his artistic direction. Working primarily with canvas and lead-free vegetable-based paints, Jácome captures the essence of the islands' fauna, including marine iguanas, sea lions, and giant tortoises, in his original paintings. His artworks are distinguished by their commitment to environmental sustainability and are featured in local platforms such as Galapagos Handmade and Tucana Designs, reflecting his deep connection to the natural world of the Galápagos.
