Dynasty Gallery was incorporated in San Francisco, California in 1951, the brainchild of two architectural designers who met at a glassmaking demonstration the year before. They began to design decorative glass objects, particularly vases and figures, but when they sought distribution they quickly discovered the number of orders for their elegant concepts rapidly outstripped their pace in making them. Using connections from their time in the United States military, they developed relationships with various artists in China, contracting them to handcraft the items for them and importing them for the American market. They particularly encouraged the artisans to add their own flourishes and personal touches, ensuring that every single piece was unique. Over the years many of their pieces fell under the Vinci line, which was primarily distributed through Hallmark and galleries throughout California before being discontinued in the late 2000s. Today they are still providing quality gift items and home accessories, with their older pieces being sought out by collectors for their place in the history of 20th Century art glass.
