Oil on canvas, of a quiet wooded landscape. Painting is housed in a beautiful Newcomb Macklin Arts and Crafts picture frame. Douglas Arthur Teed is remembered primarily for his role as an American Romantic. Although he worked as an Orientalist and painter of American Impressionist landscapes, he remained true to his romantic ideals throughout the course of his career as an artist. Little information has been recorded of this artist; what has been documented both through history and his works were his travels and studies in England, India, Greece, London, Morocco, Munich, Paris, Rome, and the Near East.
