David Stirling (1887-1971) USA, Oil On Canvas. Titled "Evening Lights". Signed in the lower right. Date: 1943, back of canvas. Framed & in good vintage condition with slight signs of age. American. David Stirling was born in 1887 in Iowa to a pioneering family. He attended the Cummings Art School in Des Moines, Iowa and the Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago. In 1918 he got married and the new couple spent their summers in Estes Park. He painted Rocky Mountain National Park but was most well known for his colorful aspen paintings. He worked exclusively in oils and painted on board for the most part. Overall SIze: 26 3/4 x 39 1/4 in. Sight Size: 22 3/4 x 35 1/4 in. #2012
