David Steiner (born 1957) is an American painter and co-owner of State of the Arts Gallery in Sarasota, Florida. Initially trained in art history, he began painting later in life and quickly developed a reputation for embracing diverse styles rather than adhering to a single mode. Steiner's creative process is driven by experimentation—he readily shifts between abstract, figurative, and observational styles. His work often reflects the unpredictability of his coastal studio environment on Siesta Key, where natural elements inform his color, texture, and form choices. Steiner has created paintings for both public and private installations, and his evolving aesthetic continues to engage collectors and viewers drawn to his unpredictable yet deeply rooted visual language.
