Numbered #11 next to the date. Signed in the lower right. Photo collage on paper. Number 11 in an edition of 20. Depicting a person in bed looking out the window. You can see an image of feet of the one taking the pictures near the bottom. Provenance: Fraenkel Gallery San Francisco, (1984 David Hockney Exhibition). Acquired at the exhibition 9/21/84 by Lee and Sharon Boysel. Original Fraenkel Gallery receipt will accompany the lot. In his photo collages, Hockney recognized that photography allowed him to challenge the centuries old assumption that art was created from a signle point of view. In arranging photographs taken from many angles Hockney discoverede an art form that was truer to the artists perception. Overall Size: 47 x 44 in. Sight Size: 46 x 43 in.
