Signed D. Crisp and dated. Edward Darrell Crisp was a California painter, sculptor and illustrator. He studied at the San Francisco Academy of Art. Crisp's work was represented by Gumps Gallery and the Hollis Gallery in San Francisco during the golden era of West Coast Abstraction from the 1960s. As a noted San Francisco art critic observed, Crisp's colors are light and bright, and he has a genius for the moment an organic form becomes abstract, or vice-versa.
