Created in 1923 by London wine merchants Berry Bros. & Rudd, Cutty Sark is an iconic brand of blended Scotch whisky named after the legendary 19th Century clipper ship. Crafted to appeal to international palates, it was purposefully blended as a lighter, smoother, and naturally paler Scotch compared to the heavier whiskies of its era. The brand gained immense popularity during Prohibition in the United States after being smuggled into the country by famous bootleggers, cementing its status as an American favorite. Instantly recognizable by its distinctive yellow label designed by Swedish artist Carl Georg August Wallin, Cutty Sark remains a globally celebrated whisky known for its citrus-forward profile and mixability.
