Corrado Pila (1901–1999) was an Italian painter known for his evocative oil-on-canvas works that depicted rural landscapes, intimate interiors, still lifes, and expressive figure studies. Born in San Giovanni in Fiore, he trained at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts under notable artists such as Eugenio Montale and Pietro Annigoni. Pila's paintings often captured everyday Italian life—scenes of peasants, shepherds, village paths, and domestic moments—rendered in a warm, realistic style rich in color and atmosphere. Frequently signed “C. Pila” or “Corrado Pila,” his work has been exhibited across Italy and internationally, and continues to be appreciated for its emotional depth and nostalgic portrayal of 20th-century Italian culture.
