Duke Beardsley was born in Denver, Colorado in 1969. He is a fifth generation Coloradan whose western roots run deep and are integral to the subjects he paints. Raised in Denver and on a family cattle ranch in eastern Colorado, Duke has been drawing and painting images of the American West as long as he can remember. His unique blend of modern art styling and traditional western iconography reflects his upbringing and has made him a popular favorite among fans of contemporary American western art. He graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont with a BA in Art History and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California with a BFA in Illustration. He received the 2001 People's Choice Award in the Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming. Among those collecting his work are The Forbes Collection, UMB Banks, and Invesco. In 2007 Duke's work was included in Out West: The Great American Landscape, a groundbreaking exhibition of contemporary American western art which toured China. Today he lives with his wife and two daughters in Denver, where he continues to make artwork and inspire new generations of painters with his unique view of the American West.
