Charles Von Saltza (1858-1905) Sweden/American Seated Girl on a Hammock. Gilt Frame.
Nice Dapple Light Original Frame / Stretcher.
Born in Sorby, von Saltza was the son of a count and became a portrait painter and teacher. He studied painting at the Royal Academy in Stockholm from 1878 to 1882, then at art academies in Brussels and in Paris. When he returned to Sweden in 1885, he became a part of the Opponents circle and was a friend and colleague of Anders Zorn, Bruno Liljefors, and Karl Nordstrom.
