Charles Handford (1909-1995) American, oil on canvas - Louisiana Bayou. It is signed in the lower center. Charles R. Handford was a self-taught artist who painted landscapes in a realist style. During the early 1960s and early 1970s he painted on the Square in New Orleans, Louisiana. Most of his work consisted of landscapes of the American West, swamps, and the mountain regions of Arkansas, Tennessee, and he sometimes signed his work Chas Handford.
