Carl Sorensen (19th/20th Century) was a bronze and metalworking from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Almost nothing is known about his early or late life, but he produced numerous bronze sculptures, tablewares, and other ornamental items between 1910 and 1930, primarily in the Art Deco style. For a time he competed with Louis Comfort Tiffany, before eventually moving to New York to work for the company himself. His pieces are recognizable by his stamp, an angular stylized “S” inside a C, with the word BRONZE above it.
