Carl Gordon Cutler (1873-1945) American, Watercolor "Foliage". Signed lower left. Landscape with lush vibrant foliage. Information on reverse with title and says. "Foliage by Carl Gordon Cutler. Framed water color from the Estate of the Artist Gift to the Copley Society from Robert C Vose Jr. November 1991 with no reservations".

Carl Gordon Cutler (1873–1945) was an American painter known for his vibrant modernist landscapes and expressive watercolors, particularly of Maine's Penobscot Bay region. Trained at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Académie Julian in Paris, his work was influenced by Fauvism and John Marin, and was exhibited internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
