Carin Von Drehle (Born 1955) American/British, Freeform Art Glass Sculpture. Vaguely shaped like a two-foot long gradient pink sock, the piece is signed and dated 1989 near the "toe" on the underside. 

Size: 11 x 24 1/2 x 5 1/4 in. 

Carin Von Drehle was born into an affluent family in America in 1955, who traveled extensively and enrolled her in the American School in London, where she graduated in 1973. It was here that she discovered glassblowing and began a twelve year career working alongside Peter Layton and Siddy Langley at the London Glassblowing Workshop. She studied art further at Bennington College before pursuing a degree in Film Theory at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London, and leaving the glass world in 1991. Since then she has worked primarily in film and television production, as well as handling communication at the Lexi Cinema, but her iridescent and whimsical glass works are still highly sought by collectors around the world.
