He quickly became a dominant force in American fashion, pioneering a minimalist, clean-cut aesthetic that rejected excess in favor of elegant, comfortable sportswear. Beyond the garments themselves, Klein revolutionized global marketing through highly provocative, culture-shifting advertising campaigns that transformed basic denim and underwear into high-status sensual symbols. After selling his multi-billion-dollar empire to PVH Corp. in 2003, he has stepped back from active design, leaving behind an enduring legacy that permanently redefined modern American luxury.
