Bohemian Blue Cut Glass Decanter with (7) Small Matching Shot Glasses. Striking cobalt blue on all, with cut to clear sections that show flowers, grapes, and other floral patterns on the decanter. Glasses have leaf patterns around them. 

Condition: Decanter is missing the stopper and has minor chips. Overall good.

Bohemian glass, also referred to as Bohemia crystal, is glass produced in the regions of Bohemia and Silesia, now parts of the Czech Republic. It has long been internationally recognized for its high quality, craftsmanship, beauty and innovative designs. Hand-cut, engraved, blown and painted decorative glassware ranging from champagne flutes to enormous chandeliers, ornaments, figurines and other glass items are among the best known Czech exports, and immensely popular as tourist souvenirs. The Czech Republic today is still home to countless glass studios and schools attended by local and foreign students. The oldest archaeological excavations of glass-making sites are located in the Lusatian Mountains and date them to around 1250 AD. Several towns have their own factory and glass museum, which employ most of the local populace, and often display items dating to around 1600. Jablonec nad Nisou in particular is famous for the local tradition of manufacturing glass costume jewelry. Among the most famous Czech glass producers are Moser (considered the most luxurious brand), Rückl (the particular favorite of Queen Elizabeth II), and Crystalex (an offshoot of Moser started by the Soviet Union).
