Bjorn Wiinblad (1919-2006) Danish, Rare German Rosenthal Porcelain Vase. Marked on underside. An exclusive Commedia Dell'Arte design he made in the 1970s.

Bjørn Wiinblad (1919-2006) was a prolific Danish artist and designer known for his whimsical style, often inspired by Hans Christian Andersen and Asian motifs, featuring round-faced figures. After studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he gained international recognition for his work, which included designing posters for events like the Olympic Games and creating textiles for ballet costumes. His legacy is cemented by his prominent design roles for companies like Rosenthal and Nymolle, with his ceramics, graphics, and other works displayed in major museums worldwide.
