Bertil Vallien (1938-2018) Kosta Boda Blues Four Elements Sculpture. Blue sculpture with a oblong triangle in the middle and a man inside it. Outside the triangle is a landscape showing the elements. The sculpture Blues Four Elements from Kosta Boda is designed by Bertil Vallien and shows the connection between humans and the four elements. A sculpture with an underlying message made of glass blue like water.

Kosta Boda, originally founded as Kosta Glasbruk in 1742 by two Swedish army officers, is a renowned glassmaking company known for its art glass and tableware. Over the centuries, it has led innovations in glass production and design, working with notable artists like Vicke Lindstrand, Bertil Vallien, and Ulrica Hydman Vallien. Mergers with Boda, Åfors, and Orrefors expanded its legacy, and today the brand is part of the New Wave Group AB. Kosta Boda’s works are featured in major museums worldwide, and it has crafted the Eurovision Song Contest trophy since 2008.
