Belinda Vidor (American 1894-1982) Monterey Cypress Oil on Canvas Painting Signed. Belinda Vidor, the daughter of renowned filmmaker King Vidor, led a remarkable life filled with art, family, and travel. After a peripatetic childhood, she found her home in Carmel, California. Her artistic journey was influenced by her studies at UCLA and her mentorship under Jan Stussy. Vidor's paintings, characterized by bold colors and expressive brushwork, often captured the beauty of the Californian landscape. She was a member of the Carmel Art Association and exhibited her work locally and nationally. Vidor's life was marked by both personal joys and tragedies, but she persevered, finding solace and inspiration in her art. She passed away in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and resilience.
