Beatriz Echeverri, a sculptor with more than 50 years of experience in the art world, was born in Salamina, Caldas, a city of light and culture. She creates her works using a unique technique of resin coated in leather.
She studied at David Manzur's studio and in 1974 participated in the National Salon of the Minute of God, where she won first prize for her sculpture, Celestina. Invited to an exhibition of 13 works at the OAS headquarters in Washington, one of her sculptures, 1.50 Meter Woman, was acquired by the organization to be displayed in its permanent exhibition hall.
In the following years, Beatriz participated in various national and international exhibitions, receiving mentions and awards in Manizales, Cali, Vienna, Miami, Santo Domingo, and Cuba, among others. With an active personality following this long period of work in the visual arts, the artist remains more relevant than ever, with successive exhibitions of her most recent works in 2024 at the Grau Gallery in Bogotá, the Fondo Cafetero in Manizales, the Club el Nogal – Focine in Bogotá, and the Casa de la Cultura in Salamina.
