Avi Thaw was born in 1943, and grew up in the nation of Israel. By the age of twelve he had his first solo show in a gallery, displaying his etchings of the ancient surroundings. In 1960 he decided to explore the world to improve his art, and eventually settled in the United States in 1965, setting up a studio in Redondo Beach, California. His paintings, prints, and etchings have earned him international acclaim, and he has exhibited regularly in the United States, Germany, and Japan. His pieces can be seen in the Atelier Gallery, Merrill Chase Gallery, Ruth Mayer Gallery, the South Coast Plaza, and others. His works are held in various private collections around the world.
