Asahi Pentax Auto 110 Camera With Accessories.
The item pictured is a complete, original boxed set of the Asahi Pentax Auto 110, an iconic miniature Single-Lens Reflex (SLR) camera system first released in 1978. Renowned as the world's smallest interchangeable-lens SLR, the camera uses the compact 110 film format but offers professional-grade features, including a fully automatic exposure system with Through-The-Lens (TTL) metering. The vivid red presentation box contains the main components of the "System 10" accessories: the tiny Pentax Auto 110 camera body, a dedicated automatic flash unit, a motor drive (or winder) for automatic film advance, and at least two interchangeable lenses, typically a standard and a wide-angle or telephoto.
Size: 10 x 1/2 x 2 1/4 in.
Asahi Optical Co., founded in 1919, transitioned from manufacturing spectacle lenses to becoming a photography pioneer with the release of the Asahiflex in 1952, the first Japanese 35mm SLR. The company gained worldwide fame in 1957 with the Asahi Pentax, which standardized the pentaprism SLR design that influenced cameras globally. After officially renaming itself Pentax Corporation in 2002, the brand's camera division was eventually acquired by Ricoh Imaging, who continues the Pentax legacy today.
