Arthur Bevan Collier (1832-1908) England, Oil on canvas. Oil on canvas landscape with a steeple in the background. Arthur Collier is known for landscape and river scene painting. After a classical public school education including classes in drawing and painting, Arthur Bevan Collier became a clerk to a solicitor in London, where he met and married his wife, the former Eliza Blaker. They had two daughters who both became established artists in their maturity. His work is included in a number of public collections including The City of Plymouth and the Royal Academy.
