Armand Nicolet, son of a watchmaker, after a brilliant apprenticeship set up his "Atelier d'Horlogerie". Armand Nicolet's story began around 1875 in Tramelan, a small town in the Bernese Jura, where he founded his "Atelier d'Horlogerie" after a successful apprenticeship. In 1902, he showcased his technical mastery by creating a complex pocket watch with a guilloché rose gold case, enamel dial, single-button chronograph, full calendar, and minute repeater. During this period, he also conducted influential design studies that shaped his future creations—pieces known for their beauty, quality, and precision, many of which are preserved in the Nicolet SA museum and prized by collectors. After his death in 1939, his son Willy took over and expanded the company into a leading regional manufacturer. A pivotal moment came in 1987 when Willy met Italian watch entrepreneur Rolando Braga, initiating a strategic partnership that blended Swiss craftsmanship with Italian creativity.
