In these representations, Guanyin is often shown seated in flowing robes with a child at her side or being presented to her, symbolizing fertility, safe childbirth, and protection of family lineage. This form of Guanyin blends Buddhist compassion with Chinese folk beliefs, aligning her with traditional goddess figures associated with motherhood and blessing. The imagery served both devotional and domestic purposes, as families prayed to her for sons, healthy heirs, and the continuity of prosperity.
