The Richmond School Furniture Company was an early-to-mid 20th Century American manufacturer based in Muncie, Indiana. The firm specialized in producing educational items and children's classroom goods, most notably its proprietary “Litho-Plate” and “Velvo-Plate” slate-surfaced blackboards, educational spelling boards, and scrolling art easels. Today, these durable wooden-framed teaching tools and interactive play-learning devices survive as highly collectible Americana and antique educational artifacts.
