Martin, Hall & Co. was a prominent British manufacturing silversmithing and electroplating firm established in Sheffield, England, in 1854. Operating out of the Shrewsbury Works with global showrooms, the company was born from a succession of partnerships involving John Roberts, Ebenezer Hall, Richard Martin, and Joshua Hall. The firm gained international renown for producing award-winning sterling silver, fine cutlery, electroplated goods, and patented “Martinoid” items that were heavily retailed across the British Empire. After navigating decades of industrial success and global exhibitions, the business was ultimately crippled by World War I and went into liquidation in 1929.
