Antique English Sterling Silver Fish Fork - 3.700 ozt. The marks on the underside of the handle indicate it was produced in 1851, one of the final years Charles Lias was active before his retirement and death. 

Size: 2 x 9 3/4 in. 

Weight: 3.700 ozt. 

Charles Lias Ltd. was founded in 1839 by an English silversmith who originally operated in London as part of a prominent family-run silver manufacturing firm. From 1823 to 1837, he was partnered alongside his father, John, and brother, Henry, trading as John Lias & Sons and producing fine Georgian and early Victorian sterling silver wares, including holloware and flatware. Following the dissolution of the family partnership after his father’s death, he continued working independently, leaving a legacy of high-quality silver pieces long after his own passing in 1855.
