A. Smith & Son was a prominent family-owned firm of watchmakers, jewellers, and horologists located at 5 High Street in Croydon, Surrey. Active during the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, the business gained a strong regional reputation for retail craftsmanship, retailed high-quality silver pocket watches, and produced traditional mantel clocks. Today, heirlooms bearing their signature remain highly sought after by collectors of vintage English horology and local Surrey antiques, particularly their larger pieces like grandfather clocks.
