Antique Blue & Black Striped Mochaware Pitcher. Condition commensurate with age and use; small chip on rim, some loss to glaze at upper black stripe, light staining, wear to top of handle and along rim and base.
Mochaware was utilitarian, widely in use in country pubs and taverns. The earliest surviving pieces date from around 1800 and originated in Stoke, though items were produced across Britain, France and America.
