Anna Prati was born in Rome in 1911, and attended art courses at the Brera Academy in Milan and the Academy of Venice. She specialized in painting under the guidance of Anselmo Bucci, frequenting his private studio and participating in group exhibitions. After World War II she settled permanently in Milan, devoting herself primarily to commissioned portraits, particularly of children. In 1956 she held her first solo exhibition at the Galleria Montenapoleone, and in her later years she began experimenting with pastels and focused more and more on compositions of religious subjects. She died in 1997.
