Andre LaPorte Striking O/C Portrait of a Woman
George Andre LaPorte (1932 - 2014) bold, unframed oil on canvas portrait of a woman in a red hat with sunglasses. LaPorte, working in Montreal & New York City, began as a leading commercial illustrator for Fairchild Publication, and segued to rug design for Versace, Ralph Lauren & Yves Saint Laurent. Throughout his career he embraced his own vivid, impressionistic style on canvas as he tackled both figural images and abstract designs. Proceeds from this sale will benefit students at the FSU/Asolo Conservatory.
