American Mid Century Modern Glass & Acrylic Coffee Table in the Style of Pace. Unique rounded triangle-shaped glass top with two angled acrylic supports beneath, making the entire piece virtually see-through.

The Pace Collection was a high-end contemporary furniture company in business from 1960 to 2001, founded by Irving and Leon Rosen in New York City. The showroom was located in Manhattan on East 62nd Street, and the Pace Collection advertised in numerous architectural and interior design periodicals, but their designs were often different from the prevalent Mid Century Modern styles offered by Knoll, Herman Miller, Steelcase and other contract furniture companies. Their Rosen line of desks, tables, and cabinets employed rich, exotic wood veneers and had high-gloss finishes with polished stainless steel trim, and their chairs, sofas, shelves, and accessories were also very popular, and often made use of Lucite and other modern materials with unusual shapes and angles. In 1985 the Rosen partnership ended when Leon commissioned New York architect Steven Holl to design a new showroom, which won Holl the American Institute of Architects (AIA) award for best architectural design in 1986 when it opened. Holl also went on to design several furniture pieces for The Pace Collection, and Irving came back to work for the company for a few years in the late 1990s before he passed away in 1997, and the showroom closed and the company went defunct when Leon also passed away in 2001.
