Alberto Giacometti was one of the most important sculptors of the 20th century, and was also well known as a painter, draftsman and printmaker. He went to Paris in 1922 to study with Rodin's pupil Bourdelle and settled in the tiny Montparnasse studio where he worked the rest of his life.
