Alain Ragaru (Born 1949) French, "Le Pont Neuf" Signed Artists Proof Lithograph. Depicts the Pont Neuf, the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris, France. It stands by the western (downstream) point of the Île de la Cité, the island in the middle of the river that was, between 250 and 225 BC, the birthplace of Paris, then known as Lutetia and, during the Medieval Period, the heart of the city. Signed in pencil bottom right. Marked "E.A." in pencil bottom left. E.A. is an abbreviation for the French phrase épreuve d'artiste, which means "artist's proof," making this piece very rare. Empty envelope attached to the back. Small label on back which reads "Balustrade III, Byrne, Lithograph."

Alain Ragaru was born in 1949 in Argentan, Orne (Normandy), France. He started painting during his childhood, eventually developing a modern neo-impressionistic style. Since 1970, his works have been exhibited in Argentina, Paris, and Palm Springs, California, with representation through Park West Gallery.
