After Victor Bruyneel (Born 1859) Belgian, Art Nouveau Cast Bronze Bust of a Noblewoman. Cast bronze bust of an elaborately decorated noblewoman on marble stand. 

Size: 2 1/4 x 4 x 10 in.

 

Victor Léopold Bruyneel (born 1859) was a Belgian-born sculptor active in late 19th- and early 20th-century Paris, celebrated for his Art Nouveau bronze busts of elegant young women. His finely detailed works often featured stylized hair, floral embellishments, and elaborate feathered hats, typically signed “V. Bruyneel Paris” and mounted on marble or wooden bases. His sculptures, such as the well-known “Libellule,” reflect the Belle Époque’s fascination with grace, beauty, and ornamental sophistication. Though biographical details about him remain scarce, his works were regularly exhibited in Salons and continue to be prized at auction for their craftsmanship and decorative appeal.
