After Nguyen Thanh Le (1919-2006) Vietnamese, Bronze Female Bust. Depicts a Vietnamese woman's head attached to a marble base with a felt bottom. Label inside base of head indicates it came from the Biên Hòa Fine Arts School, the same place Nguyen Thanh Le studied at in the 1960s.

Biên Hòa is the capital city of Đồng Nai Province, Vietnam, and is part of the Ho Chi Minh City metropolitan area. Situated northeast of Ho Chi Minh City (also known as Saigon), Biên Hòa is considered a class-1 provincial city, and the sixth largest city in Vietnam by population. A strategic location since long before 20th Century conflicts, it is the industrial hub of southern Vietnam and contains two of the major colleges in the country, Lạc Hồng University and Dong Nai University. Since the dawn of the 21st Century it has also become a cultural and social melting pot, as students from throughout Asia have come there to attend the universities and work both in the industrial and commercial center, with multiple art galleries and museums appearing since 2010 showcasing young Vietnamese artists and artifacts from the country’s pre-colonial history.
