After Frederic Remington (1861–1909) American, Western Bronze Sculpture "Coming Thru the Rye". Small cast bronze sculpture depicting four mounted cavalrymen in full gallop, mounted to marble base. Attributed and title on plaque. Artist's signature cast into base.

Frederic Remington (1861–1909) was a pioneering American artist, illustrator, and sculptor best known for his vivid depictions of the American West. His work captured the drama and grit of frontier life, focusing on cowboys, Native Americans, cavalrymen, and rugged landscapes during the late 19th century. Trained at Yale and the Art Students League in New York, Remington first gained recognition through magazine illustrations before expanding into oil painting and bronze sculpture, most famously with The Broncho Buster. His dynamic style emphasized movement, masculinity, and mythic storytelling, helping to shape the popular image of the West in American culture. Despite working largely from sketches and secondhand accounts, Remington's work became synonymous with authenticity, blending artistic flair with a deep fascination for a rapidly vanishing frontier.
