After Antoine Bofill (1875-1939) Spanish, Male Bronze Sculpture. Depicting a male figure standing upright, wearing a drape of fabric around his lower body. His right hand is holding a hammer or pickaxe, his left hand holding a farming plough. Signed Bofill on the "ground" of the sculpture.  Attached loosely on a wooden base. Name plate on the front that says Le Travail Par Bofill Exp On Des Beaux Arts, Paris. Near the left bottom has a mark that says Bronze Garanti Au Titre Paris. Appears it used to be a lamp. 

Condition: Commensurate with age, minor oxidation on the back and rubbing to patina in places. Base loose. See images.

Antoine Bofill was born in Barcelona and trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in his native city, but he was active in the Parisian art world for most of his career. Bofill was primarily known as an Animalier, the group of 19th century sculptors specialising in animal groups. Bofill experimented with different materials in his usually small scale objects, including ivory and silver. He exhibited in Spain, Germany, Austria, and France, including the Salons of the Society of French Artists from 1894 to 1910. 

Condition: Commensurate with age, minor oxidation on the back and rubbing to patina in places. Base loose. See images.
