This musical instrument came from the Central African Republic and was made of wood and animal skin. Tree branches were grown to form the shape of the spine, and sometimes African instruments like this were used in churches, but they always played in a minor key. The harp has five peg holes on each side, with one peg missing. The harp is 16 1/2 in. high and 18 1/4 in. long from front to back. From the Dale Baker collection.
