Donald J. Pliner is an American footwear and accessory designer who learned the trade apprenticing at his family's shoe business in Chicago. After establishing prominent luxury boutiques in Beverly Hills during the 1960s and 1970s, he launched his signature namesake brand in 1989. Renowned for combining high-fashion design with ergonomic comfort, his line became famous for incorporating stretch elastics, exotic leathers, and distinctive artisan detailing.
