Attractive seven volumes of Cassell's Magazine published between 1897 and 1902. Cassell's was a British monthly magazine that was published in London, Paris, New York, and Melbourne, Australia. It featured journalistic meiscellanea - a great word - and illustrated fiction by popular novelists such as Robert Louis Stevenson, J M Barrie (who created Peter Pan), and others. These volumes contain stories by Bret Harte, Stephen Crane, who wrote The Red Badge of Courage, and illustrations by Arthur Rackham, one of the preeminent illustrators of the 19th Century. (One of his drawings is pictured here.) An attractive set, with gilt decorated covers and spines. The books have light wear, and each book measures 10 1/4 x 7 1/2 in. wide. Please note that all sales are final. No refunds will be given under any circumstances.
