(7) Vintage Chinese Carved Jadeite Figures. Lot comprised of seven various carved white jadeite figures, including three children, one horse, one koi, one egg-shaped piece with curled dragon, and one rat on red silk string.

Chinese jade has been treasured for thousands of years as a symbol of purity, virtue, and immortality, occupying a central role in Chinese art, ritual, and philosophy since the Neolithic period. Valued more highly than gold in ancient times, jade—especially the luminous green nephrite and later the more vivid jadeite—was intricately carved into ceremonial objects, ornaments, burial items, and symbols of status and power. Its toughness and subtle beauty made it ideal for delicate, labor-intensive craftsmanship, often depicting dragons, phoenixes, or auspicious motifs with deeply spiritual connotations. Confucius praised jade for embodying moral qualities, and it has long been associated with harmony between heaven and earth. To this day, jade remains a cherished material in Chinese culture, believed to offer protection and promote well-being.
