Founded in 1826, Hungary's Herend Porcelain Manufactory rose to international renown under Mór Fischer by replicating classical designs for the European aristocracy and royal clientele. After surviving 20th-century geopolitical shifts and Soviet-era nationalization, the firm was privatized in 1993 under worker and management ownership. Today, Herend remains a prestigious global leader in luxury hand-painted porcelain.
