(6) Chinese Mudmen. Lot comprised of six painted ceramic traditional Chinese mudmen, five smaller figures and one larger figure.

Chinese mudmen, with their earth-toned robes and serene, weathered expressions, seem plucked from the quiet rhythms of a forgotten countryside. Crafted from unglazed clay and often posed in moments of quiet contemplation—fishing, reading, or sipping tea—these figurines capture the spirit of Taoist simplicity and the humble dignity of rural life. Their faces, lined with wisdom, carry the softness of rain-soaked soil, while their gnarled hands cradle scrolls or staffs like old friends. Each figure feels like a whispered fable, shaped not just by fingers but by centuries of reverence for nature, stillness, and the quiet art of simply being.
