(5) Oregon Vitra Glass Studio Reef Pattern Paperweights. All signed by various members of the innovative art glass studio and dated from 1994 to 1996. Each has their signature shape in different combinations of tropical coral colors. 

Condition: All excellent. 

Size: 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 in. 

 

Vitra Glass Studio was a small glassblowing operation in Bandon, Oregon that operated from the mid 1980s through the late 90s. Started by Dutch and Aro Schulze who had trained at the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington, it soon involved fellow classmates Marten and Tyler Stone, Mike Carney, and Peggy Henry, each of whom brought their own special concepts and techniques to the process. Their best-selling items were paperweights, formed in a coral reef design that garnered national attention. After the company disbanded completely in 1999 the Schulzes continued to work together on similar pieces, with their son Logan now at the helm of their Bandon Glass Art Studio, producing items from paperweights all the way up to four foot tall sculptures and installations seen throughout the Pacific Northwest.
