Photographer Describes himself: I have had a keen interest in photography for over 30 years. Having dabbled in darkrooms in the days of film, I always felt that the process of creating an image didn't stop when you tripped the shutter. I know that there are some who would consider themselves purists, and see this as "cheating." I disagree. Photographers now have more creative freedom than ever before, and that's a good thing, in my humble opinion. ? ?My main passion is photographing the landscapes of Scotland. I truly believe that I am lucky to live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. ? I hope you enjoy my vision of our wonderful land. It is certainly my pleasure to share it with you. Forth Bridges Queensferry Scotland ---Iconic, historic and magnificent, Scotland’s Forth Bridges are a wonder of the modern world and one of Scotland's most recognizable locations. Towering side by side over the Firth of Forth, these structures represent the pinnacle of engineering across three centuries. The oldest of the bridges, The Forth Bridge, is now a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site of unique global significance and interest. Edinburgh Castle from the West End ---Edinburgh Castle is a historic fortress located in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was founded in the 12th century and has since played a significant role in Scottish history. The castle has undergone many changes and additions over the centuries, and today it is a popular tourist attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. ?Ben Ledi The Trossachs Stirlingshire Scotland ---Ben Ledi is a mountain in Scotland, located in the Trossachs National Park of Stirlingshire, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. It is 1,233 meters (4,072 feet) high and is one of the most popular peaks in Scotland due to its easy-to-reach summit and scenic surroundings. Ben Ledi offers panoramic views of the surrounding areas, including Loch Lomond, the Rannoch Moor, and the Northern Highlands of Scotland. ?Linlithgow Palace Wiese Lothian Scotland ---Linlithgow Palace, once a grand royal residence of the Stewarts, now stands roofless and ruined, yet still evokes awe in visitors. The palace was commissioned by James I in 1424 after a fire damaged the earlier residence. It became a favored resting place for the royalty traveling between Edinburgh Castle and Stirling Castle. The peace and fresh air appealed particularly to the Stewart queens, and the palace served as the royal nursery for James V, Mary Queen of Scots, and Princess Elizabeth. However, the palace declined after James VI moved the royal court to London in 1603. It suffered further damage in a fire in 1746. The palace, situated on a site occupied since Roman times, overlooks a small inland loch. The name "Linlithgow" means ‘the loch in the damp hollow’. The first royal residence on the site likely dates back to the reign of David I. The site's peace was disrupted in 1296 when Edward I of England invaded Scotland and built a defense around the royal residence called "pele". The name "Linlithgow Peel" now refers to the parkland around the palace. The palace's construction spanned over a century, with various monarchs adding noteworthy features such as the Great Hall by James I, royal apartments by James IV, and a three-tiered courtyard fountain by James V. The result was an impressive quadrangular palace with four ranges surrounding a central courtyard.
