(4) Marcel Lajos Breuer (1902-1981) Hungarian/German,  Cane Cesca Arm Chairs. 

Distinctive tubular steel frame, bent into a continuous loop for the seat and back. Seat and back are woven with cane, providing a comfortable and breathable surface. Tubular steel armrests that are seamlessly integrated into the frame. 

Condition: One chair has dented seat. Discolored seat. 

Size: 22 1/2 x 20 x 33 in. 

The Cesca chair was designed in 1928 by Marcel Breuer, a Hungarian-born architect and furniture designer who was a member of the Bauhaus school. It was named after Breuer's wife, Marcella. 

Marcel Lajos Breuer was a Hungarian-German modernist architect and furniture designer. He moved to the United States in 1937 and became a naturalized American citizen in 1944
